I painted this from a photograph that I had taken in 1982 when holidaying in Scotland.
The original has been exhibited in the SGFA open exhibition at the Menier Gallery, Southwalk, London.
Ever since seeing Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s work when I first attended Art School I have adored his style.
I have visited Scotland and although have never been able to see the interior of The Glasgow School of Art I so enjoyed the Kelvingrove museum.
It was very rewarding to visit Walberswick and experience where he painted several of his well-known flower studies.
